It seems even us homebodies are starting to get a bit restless from the current Stay-at-Home and Shelter-in-Place orders. I miss the convenience of being able to make quick store runs for milk and other necessities (read as wine) without wearing gloves and facemasks. Those were the days. Even my two teenage computer game addicts are starting to get fried from only being able to socialize through screens.

All of this craziness makes me appreciate SunnieBelle even more than before. She’s not exactly a relaxing staycation destination; there are eight hives of bees to look after, plants to plant, still some poison ivy and greenbriar in the pasture that needs attention and a honeyhouse to plan. It’s a lot more physical labor than any job I’ve ever had before and my brain is considerably more ambitious than my body when it comes to how much we can get done in a day. But when I’m there, what is important comes into focus. Planting trees, shrubs and perennials for the Sweet Bees as well as SunnieBelle’s Garden, being outdoors to appreciate the birds’ songs, spreading wildflower seeds that I hope will grow –still trying to figure out the soil situation– for the many visiting pollinators that rely on the native meadow. It’s all really quite calming, almost like meditating without the meditating part. So now I’ve decided that, in all the free time I have from not being able to go anywhere (read as shopping for crafty supplies), I’ll be bringing SunnieBelle to Instagram where we can share some of these peaceful moments and beautiful scenes. Maybe even some live streaming once I figure out how. And, we may have an exciting new addition in the next few weeks, so be sure to check back — it should be pretty fun! 😉

Until then: stay home, stay healthy and wash your hands –likely there’s potting soil on them, am I right?
